Archaeology & Cultural Heritage Volunteer Intern
Daily Tasks
As an Archaeology & Cultural Heritage Intern at EcoSwell, you will be supporting the fantastic work of our non-profit partner, the Wiese Foundation. You will be given responsibility for archaeology-related projects, in one of Peru’s most exciting archaeological sites (El Brujo - Trujillo), working alongside experts in the field. The daily activities will vary depending on the time of year and the activities happening within the Foundation. This may include but is not limited to:
Field prospecting work
Cataloging of archaeological pieces
Conservation of movable and immovable archaeological assets
Inventory and registration of archeological assets
Conservation monitoring
Organization of archeological asset records
Support in ongoing editorial projects (research, illustration, digitization)
Preparation of research notes
Illustration of archaeological pieces
Help conduct workshops
Assist local-community school visits

Requirements
The volunteer internship is open primarily to the following disciplines: archaeology, anthropology and/or historical studies.
Undergraduates, postgraduates, PhDs and/or professionals are all welcome. However we do ask for:
A minimum placement stay of three weeks
An academic, professional background or personal motivation in archaeology
Minimum age 18
Basic experience or strong motivation to work as part of a team away from home
However, the most important thing is that you have an open mind, positive attitude and willingness to learn!
