Benefits of Ecotourism: People and Nature Thriving in Unison

EcoSwell supports communities in northern Peru with the aim of protecting the dry forest from further deforestation.

EcoSwell visited the nearby town of Piedritas and impressed by the nature there, identified it as a prime location for ecotourism. Together with its partners, EcoSwell is building hiking trails and an ecotourism center to have a sustainable impact on the community.

Renewable Energy Internship: Powering the Future

In 2019, Bryce Nichols decided to do a volunteering internship with EcoSwell's renewable team.

Impressed by the work and impact EcoSwell has, he decided to travel to Lobitos for a second internship in 2022 to gain further hands-on experience in renewable energy. 

Environmental Restoration through Goat Herding

During his volunteer internship placement in 2021, Austin Jones learned the importance of looking at resources holistically whilst walking with goats and their herders.

Public health initiatives in Peru: Creating a Community of Household Health Advocates

Sofia Curto joined EcoSwell as a Research volunteer intern for six months. In these six months, she had the opportunity to get to know the community better and understand their health challenges.

She designed a Community Health worker program with the aim to bridge the gap between the healthcare system and the locals of Lobitos by creating employment opportunities as health educators and promoters for locals.
